Los Invasores de Nuevo Leon
As the name implies, this group is from this true mecca of traditional regional Mexican music, Nuevo León, Monterrey. They got together in 1978 and the name came from a call-in contest on radio station, XETKR. Therefore they were promoted at the same time rewarding the audience with a serenade. They were named Los Invasores De Nuevo León. Initially, Los Invasores took their boleros, corridos and rancheras to different parties that they have to entertain. This was how they met the person that would later on become their manager. He was very interested in the band and put them in contact with DVL, the company with whom they recorded their first album, Laurita Garza in 1982. The first album contained their first hit, Mi Casa Nueva, the main reason for it becoming a gold record. After ten years, Los Invasores lost their singer, Lalo Mora in 1993, who decided to leave the group and was replaced by Isaías Lucero, who made his debut on the gold, "Playa Sola," selling more than 100 thousand copies. In 1997, the founding members that are still in the group are: Javier Ríos (accordion and backup vocals), Homero de León (electric bass) and Eliud López (drums). They needed to find a singer, since Isaías Lucero left the band. Taking advantage of the transition, they get various members together with the new singer, Rolando Marroquín. This is the way Rigoberto Marroquín comes into the band and plays the six sting bass. In 1997 this new formation recorded, Ventanas al Viento and Vuelvo Contigo in 1998, finding unexpected success thanks to the song A Mí Que Me Quedó. Celebrating a career of 20 years, they recorded an album with only Boleros, named Boleros 20 Aniversario. At the end of 2004, Los Invasores de Nuevo León recorded their 39th album of their long career, Los Mas Buscados.
