No no no no no no no no
(Chanson originale de Jimmy Webb, album 'Words and Music' 1970, piste 2)
No, don't sing this song
Non non non non non non non non
Don't sing this song
Ne chante pas cette chanson
Non, ne chante pas cette chanson
I have been seeking P.F. Sloan
But no one knows where he has gone
Non non non non non non non non
No one ever heard the song
That boy sent winging
Ne chante pas cette chanson
Now you might sigh
Elle appartient à P.F. Sloan
And sweat about the skin and bone
J'ai recherché P.F. Sloan
And read the Rolling Stone
While he continued singing
Now listen to him singing
Personne n'a jamais entendu la chanson
No no no no no no no no
De ce garçon envoyé balader
No, don't sing this song
Maintenant vous avez peut-être soupirer
Don't sing this song
Et vous avez peut-être gémi
Oh, from now on
Et suer sang et eau
Nixon's come and bound to stay
Et vous avez simplement souri
He's taken all my sins away
I heard it on the news today
Et lu le 'Rolling Stone'
But it set my ears to ringing
Can't you hear the people singing
Alors qu'il continuait à chanter
No no no no no no no no
Maintenant écoutez-le chanter
No, don't sing this song
Non non non non non non non non
Don't sing this song
Ne chante pas cette chanson
Oh, from now on
Non, ne chante pas cette chanson
Last time I saw P.F. Sloan
Non non non non non non non non
He was summer burned and winter blown
But he turned that corner all alone
Ne chante pas cette chanson
Listen to him singing
Elle appartient à P.F. Sloan
No no no no no no no no
Oh. à partir de maintenant
No, don't sing this song
Don't sing this song
Maintenant ils l'ont empaillé et séché
Oh, from now on
No no no no no no no no
No, don't sing this song
À travers la porte battante
Don't sing this song
Nixon est venu et condamné à rester
Oh, from now on.
